New Zealand kitchen and joinery pricing has risen materially over 2022–2025 in response to labour shortages and material cost inflation. Supply chain improvements have eased material pricing from peak levels, but labour costs remain elevated.

Auckland pricing is often higher than regional centres because of labour and occupancy costs. The premium varies significantly by job type and specification — industry experience suggests a meaningful difference, but driven by higher overhead costs — rent, labour, compliance. For regional workshops, competitive pricing needs to account for freight on materials that can be substantial for larger projects.
